Mike Davenport (AMS) is permitted to use the Accredited Marine Surveyor designation denoting membership in the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors that require members to meet strict professional, technical and ethical standards. In addition we are a member of American Boat and Yacht Council and not only accepted, but recommended, by Boat US Marine Insurance as well as numerous other finance and insurance institutions worldwide. Why should you have the vessel surveyed? Most insurance companies and banks will require them.
Safeguard Marine Surveying LLC has supported insurance institutions and vessel owners by evaluating damages to pleasure and commercial vessels. With our expertise we can evaluate damages thoroughly and accurately, and make appropriate repair recommendations and or evaluate repair estimates. For all assignments the insured will be contacted by phone, usually ASAP, but always within twenty four (24) hours. We determine cause and origin, nature and extent of damage, cost of repairs and fair market value as requested.
Safeguard Marine Surveying LLC requires payment on the day of service; absolutely no information will be released either verbally or written without payment. Payment is by cash, check, money order, or wire transfer. Based out of Sarasota Florida, Safeguard Marine Surveying LLC has been providing our clients with marine surveys and claims investigation since 1994.
One problem with a fire aboard a boat is that unlike a house where running across the street to escape the flames is an option, on a boat there's no place to go but overboard. Unfortunately, this violates the second rule of boating: Stay with the boat. Ironically, if enough of what the boat is floating on can be brought into the boat, the fire can usually be put out.
