I got a job at this place in 2018. I have 15 years of land surveying and AUTOCAD experience all over the U. S. and I was hired here as a draftsman. I noticed very early on that working in their office requires patience due to the many personal visits that family and friends make during the working day and a large dog that has no boundaries nor behaves.
I found myself in a situation where, on my third day, an employee's girlfriend accused me of being rude to her. I will admit that I was there to work, not socialize. I'm not your friend just because I work for your family. I don't have to answer your personal questions or indulge you about my life. Accordingly, Brent totally lost his composure and acted like a child, perhaps due to some kind of insecurity about his girlfriend's appearance.
I continued working during this tantrum because the military desensitizes you to this kind of behavior. His father, the owner, acted professionally and put an end to it. He apologized, which I appreciated. Obviously, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to continue working there after something like this. The owner explained to me privately that Brent has anger problems and keeping employees due to his behavior is becoming difficult.
He gave me severance and I found another job. If you have a bad feeling about a working environment or don't feel comfortable, get another job. It's not worth the hassle people! I would caution anyone who may think of working here. In my opinion, Brigham Allen is a toxic work environment. But, they did pay me nicely, so I give them 1 star!
