I requested a survey and Randy was able to schedule my job quickly knowing it was not as complex as other companies had claimed to me over the phone. The quote was in-line with all the other surveys I had quoted in the area and was able to use his experience to find enough markers on the property to not extend the work for him or me. He kept in touch the day of and ensured I knew the ins and outs of my property. Extremely professional and easy to work with.

I had a very bad experience with this group. Please do not use S.D. Puckett and Associates Inc for your surveys. They have very bad customer service. We are doing land engineering work on a parcel and ask our surveyor, Mr. Puckett for a CAD file on the work that we had paid for already. He refused and hung the phone on me. I told him that I would sign any waiver of liability if he was afraid of someone altering the drawing (our own drawing that we had paid for).
I also told him it would help us greatly if we have a computer version of the drawing to help us with the land development. After many phone calls and emails, he still refused. He is not an understanding person and thinks that everyone is out there to take advantage of him. I told him that as a customer, we have the right to receive our own CAD file. I had my land engineer contacted him numerous times. NO RESPONSE! Mr. Puckett is a rude old man with no sympathy for others, but himself!

After calling around try to find someone to get a survey done for me, SD Puckett associates agreed to take my business with a good quote for the job. I was excited to work get this done and I understood they were busy so I was patient. He told me they'd have the survey done and submitted within a few weeks, after a month went by no word. I called and he told me the field work was already done (it was not) and he would call back the same day with more information.
A day goes by no call I try and call still has no new information but assured me it will be done the next week. I call the next week wasn't done and they in fact hadn't started on it. When I asked why he had no information and for actual timeline on when it would be done, he told me I should take my business elsewhere. Every time I called he would ask for my phone number and address like I was a new customer after speaking with him at least 10 times you would think they'd have my contact information.
It's very obvious they are taking in all the business they can without trying to keep up with anything they already have. This was something important for me and my wife to have done and this business treated it like they didn't care that they wasted over a month of my time. I would not trust a word they have to say if you're considering to use their services.

Scheduled a survey 2 weeks ago for a Tuesday at 9 am. 9 am went by and no one came, so at 2 I called to see if anyone was coming? I was told they had someone out sick (understandable) and that someone would be over later that day or first thing the next morning. No one came that evening and again the next morning went by and NO ONE showed up. So I called again and spoke to a woman who states 2 other excuses, takes my name and number and as I am trying to clarify that No one will be coming she tells me to have a good day and hangs up on me!
If there was truly a scheduling error a courtesy phone call could have avoided any frustration. This place needs better customer service and organization. Very sloppy! Needless to say, someone else will be getting our business and money.

Of the half-dozen land surveyors I called to complete a survey of my property so that I could obtain HOA approval for a fence I want to build, S.D. Puckett was the quickest to get me on schedule. They drafted the survey within days of their field work visit and let me know as soon as it was ready. They made sure that I had everything I needed and they encouraged me to give them a call later if I have any questions develop during my HOA approval process. I would recommend S.D. Puckett.

The owner of this company flat out refused to help spilt a lot in Durham because the city is "Too Difficult" to deal with. Well if your profession is Land Survaying that "specializes" in sub dividing land then maybe it's time to change careers. With this type of attitude I assume there normal jobs involve crayons and poster board.
