In 1982, Elliot Thayer received his professional engineer's license and started Thayer Engineering Company. Over the next two years, he brought in two partners, Andy Dunbar and Bob Clunie, along with other employees. In 1984 he bought the building that Thayer Engineering Company now calls home. Today, there are six employees at this small but very busy Farmingdale engineering firm.
