An ALTA/ACSM survey is a standard developed by the American Land Title Association and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping. Often known as a ALTA survey, it is a survey that connects a specific title policy, and the elements contained within that policy to the boundary lines, easements, and physical manmade objects on the ground. ALTA surveys are usually part of a real estate or refinance transaction.
