Jeremy of Benchmark Land Surveying provided excellent service. My wife and I requested a survey because the City of Worthington says our lot is 85 feet wide, but our neighbors’ fences on either side are only 79 feet apart. That discrepancy would be a problem when either we or the neighbors sell their houses.
Fortunately, the lots in the neighborhood are rectangles. However, the surveying job was difficult because at the front corners of the property, the original marker pins were lying on their side underground. Jeremy speculated that the construction grading equipment 50 years ago had displaced the pins.
At the back of the property, the original pins were missing. Jeremy did find a usable pin at the opposite corner of one of the neighbor’s property. Using that pin and his GPS equipment, he put nails temporarily marking the four corners of our property. To verify the accuracy of his work, he went to the end of the street and found another usable pin.
He measured the distance between the two usable pins using his GPS equipment. That distance differed from the City’s plat map by 3/10 of a foot, a discrepancy of less than an inch per lot. The story for our property: on one side, the neighbor’s fence is about 9 feet onto our property. On the other side, the neighbor’s fence has granted us an extra 3 feet. Both fences are decaying, so now neighbors can put any new fence in the correct location.
Jeremy was very pleasant to work with and explained to us what he was doing.

I had benchmark come to my house to survey for my fence install. They were one of the only surveyors that actually called me back. They came when they said they would and did a fantastic job. They have top of the line equipment and their surveyor, Jeremy, is a huge asset. He was very knowledgable and answered all my questions.

This company is outstanding, their communication with me through the whole process was outstanding, Jeremy the surveyor did an outstanding job, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and very professional, couldnt have asked for better service, would highly recommend this company for serveys. Jeremy went above and beyond to make sure everything was correct and marked properly, was able to answer all of my questions. Also learned some cool facts about my property.

Bill and team were wonderful. From first contact, they provided a detailed cost and time estimate. Due to high demand, I had to wait about 4 weeks. During this time they kept me informed, which was nice. On the day of the service, they were professional and did everything I could hope for. While my property is in the city, it is a very complex piece of land.
On the first day they had to stop early in order to do additional computer mapping back at the office. Two days later they returned and finished the work very quickly. Everything came out great. They even added a couple extra line markings to make my fence project easier. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Finding a company even willing to take on residential boundary surveys at this time is a chore, I called multiple companies and no one was taking on non-mortgage related business. It’s good to be busy during all of this.
Luckily, I got in touch with Benchmark. They were extremely responsive and honest that it may take a few weeks to get scheduled but got me on the books.
Our boundary survey was just completed, less than a month wait and Jeremy was excellent. He found all our buried pins, marked boundary lines and walked me through each marker upon completion, incase there were any questions. I would use them again should we have any future survey needs.

Behncmark was fantastic across the board. I bought a new house and needed a fence built ASAP for my dogs. I needed a survey done first and Benchmark responded quickly to my emails, gave me a turnaround time of 13-15 days, then showed up to survey in 9 days. Jeremy was my surveyor and was extremely polite & answered all my questions. He was thorough in his survey...he even found that one of my corner pins had been placed in the wrong location and corrected it. Would highly recommend Jeremy and Benchmark to anyone.
