Our dedication to serving the needs of our clients has been a hallmark of Smith & Company Engineers. We've grown to a staff of over 40 people, including Professional Engineers, Registered Geologists, Professional Land Surveyors, and other scientific and technical professionals. Based in Poplar Bluff, MO, we are the largest engineering/surveying firm between St. Louis and Memphis.
Primarily related to petroleum storage tank sites, the following is a list of sample projects. Turnkey Environmental Projects including underground tank closure and obtaining a "no further action" status. Assist clients in complying with agencies such as the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and US Environmental Protection Agency. We are able to acquire, and analyze the geotechnical results and provide recommendations to move the process forward.
Smith & Company Engineers provided final design and inspection services of a 1.5 million gallon elevated storage tank in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The new tank is approximately 133 feet tall and 86 feet in diameter and sits on a foundation of 224 Geopiers. The tank is located with Bacon Park and connects in with the City of Poplar Bluff's distribution system. Design was initiated in 2009 and is nearing the completion of construction. Construction cost was $2.5 Million.
